昨日の夕方家電に異常があったが、関東で広く一瞬停電が有ったらしい。サウンドハウスで買った安物のUPS機能しなかった・・・。パソコンとBRレコーダーのHDDにダメージ無ければいいが・・・。

UPSとはなんですか？停電したときに機器に電源を供給するもの、と解釈しているのですが、具体的にどのような作りなんですか？電源のアダプタに電気を貯めておく機能が付いている、というイメージなのですか。またこれは、一般の家庭の家電などへの電源供給にも使えますか？
